The feasibility stage is the exciting part where we start the design process. We will visit your property and carry out an initial appraisal, discuss the project brief and identify a suitable scope of construction work.
Following this we will prepare a preliminary concept design for sign off by you. Once we are all happy with the concept, the next step is to proceed to a planning application and supporting drawings.
We will produce existing and proposed plans, elevations and sections for your approval and submission to the local planning department. We will then liaise with them to be sure that everything is in place for a valid application and be on hand to answer any questions or queries which may arise during the statutory 8 week review period.
Once a planning application is submitted, we we can produce a more detailed set of information which will be required by Building Control.
As part of this process we will also issue the Structural Engineers design and calculations for approval.
The tender process is where the Architectural and Structural information is used by prospective builders to generate a cost and program for delivering the works.
Once the building control package is complete, we will help issue this information to prospective contractors and analyse the returns to make sure that they align with your design aspirations.
With a competent contractor in place, the responsibility for delivering the project on time and on budget is transferred to them. We can assist you, helping to navigate your way through the construction period, by playing a support role until completion.
